A Message from Hattie

My name is Hattie Portis-Jones and I’m running for re-election to Fairburn City Council because I believe that we can restore public confidence in our city government when we elect honest leaders who govern with integrity, dignity, and transparency.


I’ve never been the sort of person to sit on the sidelines—I believe in action. In the last eight years as a City Council member, I’ve passed key legislation and created innovative programs that center the needs of our community. But I’ve also seen gaps in services which create an opportunity for us to reimagine the way our city works. The truth is, there’s still room for improvement, and the people of Fairburn deserve more. 


As a 25-year resident and lifelong public servant, I am deeply committed to our city and would be honored to serve for another term. Together, I believe we can build a better Fairburn.

Priorities

  • Create jobs by investing in green energy and infrastructure

  • Develop and promote tourism in Fairburn

  • Support our children by investing in education

  • Hold our city-run utility companies accountable

  • Address food insecurity with more farmers markets and community gardens

  • Maintain Fairburn’s tree canopy and expand greenspace

  • Improve infrastructure including broadband, water, and sewer

  • Be a good steward of taxpayer dollars & ensure a balanced budget
